Shidokan Karate


Shidōkan (She-Do-Khan) is an eclectic style of Knockdown karate, founded by Yoshiji Soeno, who was called Kyokushin's "Ferocious Tiger in the West". Established in 1978, its governing body is the World Karate Association Shidokan, with its headquarters located in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Currently, it has branches in 68 countries around the world. It’s parenthood comes from Kyokushin karate, Judo, Kick boxing.

It is also a karate group that has focused on face attacks and grappling techniques from early on. There are two types of karate: glove karate and full-contact karate, which allows grabs (3 seconds), prime bouts, throws, joints, chokes, and groundwork (5 seconds). (Full contact) A group that calls itself karate, and is characterized by adopting the least restrictive match rules. In addition, since it has many branches overseas and actively holds tournaments, there are cases where full contact karate rules = Shidokan rules in some countries.

Yoshiji Soeno


World Karatedo Federation Shidokan President.

He was born in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture, on September 29, 1947. 

 In 1964, he entered Kyokushin Kaikan.

 He won 2nd place at1st All Japan Karatedo championship.

 During his time at Kyokushin Kaikan, he was nicknamed "Tiger of Jpusei/ Tiger of kyokushin," and not only practiced karate, but also practiced Muay Thai in Thailand and worked hard in the United States. Opened a dojo.

 In 1978, he established the ``World Karatedo Federation Shidokan'' and continues to this day.

 Currently, through karate, he promotes traditional Japanese culture and the spirit of Bushido, which is passed on to his disciples in 68 branches around the world. It goes without saying that he is a legend in the martial arts world.

Shinichiro Miyamoto


He was born March 23, 1976 in Tomioka Town, Fukushima Prefecture.
 
November 6, 2021 Acquired 3rd dan as appointed Shidokan Chicago Branch Manager of the World Karatedo Federation and Deputy Shihan.
 
The family line is the descendant of a samurai family that served the Tokugawa Shogunate.
 
During his childhood, he was strictly trained in bushido spirit and etiquette by his grandfather and father, who were kendo holders. 
 
There were many times when he was bullied or lost in a fight and when I came home crying, he was not allowed into the house until he won.
Also, in his childhood, he sweated baseball, track and field, and wrestling. When he moved to the United States in 2001, he tested his skills at every martial arts dojo in Chicago. When he visited Shidokan Matsumoto Dojo, he met Master Yasunori Matsumoto, Master Mtsumoto broke his nose bone, removed his shoulder joint, and received a baptism of real martial arts.
 
He has competed in several mixed martial arts matches and won a silver medal in an open weight tournament in grappling competitions. In 2022, he opened the Shidokan Krate Miyamoto Dojo in order to pass on the spirit of bushido to future generations through karate.
